tatertot

It’s something that no one should have to go through: battling the deadly disease that is cancer, and even worse, having to do it as a child. While many children are outside playing, picking flowers, and riding bikes, there are those like seven-year-old Gabriel “Tater” Singleton who are fighting just to stay alive after being dealt such a cruel card in life.

Gabriel has been in cancer treatment for four years, and it’s no doubt been painful and exhausting for both him and his family. The little fella from Georgia has only one wish, according to his mother, and it’s to Meet Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; the actor inspires the little boy to keep fighting the Neuroblastoma with which he’s been diagnosed.

Gabriel’s mom explains in an interview with WRCBTV that when the little boy began to lose his hair, he felt self-conscious.

“He was kind of embarrassed about his bald head. So I would pull up The Rock’s Instagram account and I’d say, ‘Look! The Rock is bald and he’s so strong and he’s awesome. You’re just like him,'”

The little boy has now become the former wrestler’s biggest fan, and with the help of his mom’s digital media campaign to get Dwayne Johnson’s attention, he hopes to finally meet his idol in person.

Incredibly, the Internet is picking up on this little boy’s story and his determination to have his wish come true is catching fire with social media users…it’s only a matter of time before we hopefully see the pair proudly displaying their bald heads. Until then, keep fighting, Tater!

Why The Rock is on a roll

By Brandon Griggs, CNN

Story highlights

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has at least a dozen new projects in the works

His movies collectively have grossed almost $5.8 billion worldwide

(CNN)Forget James Brown. The Rock is the new Hardest Working Man in Show Business.

That’s wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — and if you thought he was everywhere in 2015, just wait.

The chiseled celeb has at least a dozen new projects in the works, from action flicks and buddy comedies to an animated Disney movie and an HBO documentary. On Tuesday he announced his latest producing venture, a car-centric cop show for Fox called “Boost Unit.”

With his biracial background, bulging biceps and can-do charisma, Johnson may be the perfect star for an increasingly international moviegoing audience that often prefers spectacle to subtlety.

At the box office, he is Hollywood’s new Rock of Gibraltar — his movies collectively have grossed almost $5.8 billion worldwide — and everyone wants a piece.

Last year alone The Rock presented an award at the Oscars, hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time, headlined the blockbusters “Furious 7” and “San Andreas,” anchored the HBO show “Ballers,” hosted the TNT reality show “Wake Up Call,” tag-teamed with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 31 and immortalized his handprints in cement outside Hollywood’s famed Chinese Theatre.

Oh, and he and longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian became parents to a daughter in December.

When does he find time to work out?

The Rock may be even busier in 2016. Here’s a fast and furious rundown of his upcoming projects.

WrestleMania 32 (April)
The annual pro wrestling extravaganza, produced by WWE, takes place April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. No word yet on The Rock’s planned ring escapades.

‘Rock and a Hard Place’ (May)
Johnson will produce and appear in this documentary special for HBO about a youth-prison boot camp in Miami. Inspired by his own brushes with the law as a youth, the documentary will chronicle the prison’s six-month program in which drill sergeants push inmates to their limit while encouraging them to learn from their past mistakes

‘Central Intelligence’ (June)
His Rockness pairs with Kevin Hart for this movie comedy in which a geek-turned-CIA agent returns home for his high school reunion and pranks the former “big man on campus” (Hart) by enlisting him for a fake case that turns dangerously real.

‘Rock the Troops’ (November)
Johnson has partnered with Spike TV for this original variety-show special to air on Veterans Day. The Rock will join other celebrities to entertain U.S. troops serving at an overseas military base.

‘Moana’ (November)
The Rock voices a demigod named Maui in this animated Disney film about a Polynesian teen who sets sail in search of a fabled island. The music is by Lin-Manuel Miranda, now earning raves for the Broadway smash “Hamilton.”

‘Ballers’ Season 2 (no release date announced)
Johnson returns to this popular HBO comedy series as Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player who mentors current and former players through the daily grind of the business of football.

‘Boost Unit’ (no release date announced)
An equal-opportunity TV producer, The Rock will develop this car-focused cop show for Fox. It’s based on a real LAPD unit that focuses specifically on vehicle crimes, so you can bet on lots of car chases, “Fast & Furious” style.

‘Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon’ (2016)
This sequel to “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” reunites Johnson with co-star Josh Hutcherson for a fantastical trip through space.

‘Baywatch’ (2017)
Sports Illustrated bikini model Kelly Rohrbach just joined the cast of this movie remake of the cheese-tastic ’90s lifeguard TV series, joining Johnson and Zac Efron.

‘Fast & Furious 8’ (2017)
The Rock is expected to rejoin Vin Diesel and other crew members for the latest chapter in this blockbuster action franchise.

‘Rampage’ (2017)
Johnson will headline this live action feature based on the classic ’80s Midway arcade game in which players must defeat giant monsters that wreak havoc on major cities across North America.

‘Shazam!’ (2018?)
The Rock has been attached to DC Comics’ “Shazam” for years. But instead of playing the titular wizard, he’ll play Black Adam, the villain. It’s a rare role reversal for someone who almost always plays the good guy.

‘Jungle Cruise’ (2018?)
This Disney movie, based on the popular Disneyland ride, is in the early development stages and not many details are known. We’re guessing it would pit The Rock against crocodiles, piranhas and other tropical river beasties.

EXCLUSIVE: Our @SevenBucksProd is proud to partner with @HBO Documentary Films & @44_Blue to bring you “ROCK AND A HARD PLACE”. A look at one of the most hard core and successful boot camp prisons in the world (an astonishing 9% recidivism rate, while the national prison rate is 70+%). The moment I stepped inside, spent time with and spoke to these incarcerated young men, I felt in my heart the world should see their struggle and hopefully witness their triumph. I was arrested multiple times starting at the age of 13yrs old. I was once in their shoes, but I changed and I know some of these young men can too. It’s a powerful documentary that’ll hit you to the core. Can’t wait for you to see it. COMING THIS MAY. #SevenBucksProds #44Blue #HBODocumentaryFilms #RockAndAHardPlace

She’s here! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, sources confirm to Us Weekly. The longtime couple welcomed their daughter on Wednesday, December 16.

Johnson is also the father of a 14-year-old daughter named Simone from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.
Over the weekend, Hashian joked that she hoped their baby won’t take after dad and wouldn’t weigh 20 pounds. “So grateful and in awe of this time,” the singer-songwriter, 31, captioned an Instagram of herself with the actor, 43, on Saturday. “To experience creating a little life is just incredible. This beautiful cycle of life and womanhood beginning again. And like Big Daddy says, couldn’t be prouder of all the kickass women she’s going to have around her! And men of course … #LetsJustHopeBigDaddyDoesntweigh20lbBaby.”

The former WWE star and Central Intelligence actor announced they were expecting this past November.

Seven Bucks Productions (HBO’s “Ballers” and TNT’s “Wake Up Call”) co-founded by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, and production company Left/Right, announced their partnership today with the sports agency Athletes First, to produce an untitled docu-series. The series will document college football players and their intense preparation for the NFL Draft.

The players and agents experience a grueling four-month sojourn which is both physically and emotionally draining as they battle through All-Star games, the NFL Combine, Pro Day workouts and non-stop training in an all-out-effort to achieve their dreams of being drafted by an NFL team. While all the aspiring players go through the same battery of tests and tryouts on the way to the NFL, each individual’s path has its own personal victories and defeats, all of which unfold to tell a very compelling and human story. The docu-series will shadow fifteen young men as they embark on this emotional and unpredictable journey towards their NFL dreams.

“As a former high school All-American football player and collegiate National Champion at University of Miami, I know how determined and relentlessly hard these athletes work and we’re inspired to share their stories. This series will show the commitment and heart required to achieve your dreams,” said Johnson.

“We’re excited for our audiences to experience this level of story telling at such a critical time in these athletes’ lives. Raw, passionate and honest, the docu-series aligns perfectly with our Seven Bucks brand ethos and mission,” Garcia stated.

“It is a true honor to work with partners of this caliber on such a great project. Dwayne, Dany, Seven Bucks and Athletes First are the best at what they do — we are happy to be in the mix,” said Banks Tarver, Co-Founder and Co-President of Left/Right.

“Athletes First is thrilled to partner with Seven Bucks Productions and Left/Right to document the hard work and dedication that our rookies go through as they transition from college to the NFL. Having witnessed this inspirational journey over a hundred times, we’re honored to partner with people who know what it takes to tell this story the right way,” said Ryan Williams, Partner and Vice President of Marketing at Athletes First.

The announcement follows a successful line up for Seven Bucks Productions and Left/Right with the season two renewals of HBO’s “Ballers” and Bravo’s “Odd Mom Out.”

Athletes First also garnered acclaim this year with four clients receiving first round NFL draft picks.

The action-packed, dramatic new series aligns with Seven Bucks Productions’ commitment to strong storytelling and Left/Right’s ability to produce an eclectic mix of content.
